SAVE THE DATE! North Dakota Mission of Mercy – Sept. 28-29, 2018

We are excited to announce that we will host a dental Mission of Mercy (MOM) event at the Bismarck Event Center on Sept. 28-29, 2018.

As you may know, most of the state dental associations now organize and produce state MOM’s that provide charitable dental care on a first-come, first-serve basis using portable equipment in an arena setting. We will be working with America’s Dentist Care Foundation (ADCF) from Wichita, Kansas, that will provide the dental equipment for a 50-chair clinic to be set up in the Bismarck Events Center arena.

It is estimated that we will need 75-100 dentists, 200 dental team members and 300 community volunteers to make this event a success. Please contact the NDDA Central Office if you are interested in serving on the organizational team or as a volunteer for the event. Mark your calendars now to join us … it is a potentially life-changing event for both the patients and volunteers!

Mission of Mercy 2016

Volunteer dentists bring free dental care to patients in North Dakota, Minnesota

The North Dakota Dental Association and the North Dakota Dental Foundation, in partnership with the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation, brought the Mission of Mercy to Fargo-Moorhead on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Concordia College Memorial Auditorium in Moorhead, Minn., was transformed into a 100-chair clinic to provide free care, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, limited treatment for partial dental appliances, and some root canals in front teeth.  Care was provided by more than 800 volunteers, including dentists from North Dakota and Minnesota, as well as hygienists, dental assistants, translators and lay volunteers. Together they served 1,175 patients who traveled from locations throughout the upper Midwest to receive care.

The North Dakota Dental Association hopes to host additional Mission of Mercy events in coming years at locations throughout North Dakota.

“North Dakota’s dentists are committed to delivering quality dental care to all of our state’s residents,” said Dr. Brent Holman, executive director of the North Dakota Dental Association. “We understand the unique mix of barriers that prevent some from receiving the care they need and are constantly implementing solutions to those barriers. Mission of Mercy is just one example of our efforts to provide dental care to those who need it, and we look forward to making this an annual event at various locations throughout the state in coming years.”
