North Dakota is partnering with the Minnesota Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Foundation in their 5th annual Minnesota Mission of Mercy (MOM). The event will be held at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN on July 22-23, 2016. What is a “MOM”? It is a community service project that provides free dental care over a 2-day period for those facing barriers to care. If you have not worked in a MOM before, it is an inspiring way to use your talents as part of a team to help those in need. Some 600 dentists, hygienists, assistants, and lab technicians are needed to work in this event and it’s North Dakota’s turn to step up to the plate!
If you are a dentist or hygienist practicing in North Dakota and do not have a Minnesota license, you will need to apply for a Minnesota Volunteer Guest License. Dental assistants that will be working chairside, do not need a guest license. There is no cost and more info can be obtained at https://www.mndental.org/events/mission-of-mercy/volunteer/ If you are definitely planning to help out, it is advisable to apply for your guest license soon. Volunteer registration is now open.
